Birthday Testimonials
MARYANN,  HAPPY 25TH ANNIVERSARY TO AIM!  WE WERE BOTH THERE TOGETHER WHEN YOU FIRST STARTED AND ALTHOUGH I WOULD LOVE TO BE THERE, I'M SORRY TO SAY THAT I CANNOT.  MAY THIS ANNIVERSARY BE THE START OF MANY MORE TO COME!  KEEP UP THE GREAT WORKS THAT AIM DOES!    HUGS, DONNA

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIM!
I can not believe that AIM is 25!!! My mom started AIM when I was just 4 years old. I remember my sisters and I putting on shows, magic shows and dance shows, at many AIM parties!  I would come to the office with my mom when I didn't have school and help make copies, staple and stuff envelopes-so I saw first hand all of the work that AIM takes.  I am so excited for this party~ I wouldn't miss it for anything. I am bringing my daughter, Hailey, who is 5.  I am excited to share an AIM party with her.

My mom has worked and dedicated her whole life to helping others.  She is truly a good person ~ she is strong and never gives up.  She has a positive attitude ~ almost to the point of annoyance.  But looking back over the years...I can not imagine growing up without AIM.  AIM has not only been an ispiration to me, it has helped me with my own struggles in life.   AIM SHOWS YOU THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND THAT
 YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIM and CONGRATULATIONS!
LOVE, Amanda (Mary Ann's Daughter)

It took me a long time but I finally got it! and I'll never go back to the way I was.
Some never get it and live a life time and die never getting it but not me.
An old Indian Prayer I'd like to share,
Please reveal to me the source of my pain
and help me deal with it.
Happy Birthday AIM and Thanks,.
Roger

To all AIM members (Past and Present)
My name is John Paytas and I am a former AIM member, I came to AIM in 2003 with severe anxiety and was afraid to do anything. But AIM changed my life for the better. Now because of AIM my life has been turned around for the better. So congrats on AIM's 25th birthday. Keep On Rockin' AIM

Happy Birthday AIM!
At one of the first AIM birthday parties, my sisters and I did a dance routine to Walk Like An Egyptian, strobe light and all. We won't be reviving that number at this year's party, but I will definitely be remembering and celebrating all of AIM's successes. I can remember three different AIM offices like I remember my childhood home. I spent a lot of time "working" with Mom. To be around all of that hard work and energy has helped shape who I am today. Congratulations to AIM for changing the lives of countless individuals!
Love, Amy Miller (Mary Ann's Daughter)

HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY AIM

I WAS THERE FOR THE FIRST MEETING AND SEVERAL AFTER THAT.
I'M GLAD THAT AIM HAS HUNG ON FOR SO LONG, BUT ONLY
WISHING THAT MORE PEOPLE WERE RECOVERED.  USE THE TOOLS
AND COME TO THE MEETINGS FOR SUPPORT.  IT WORKS. SEE
YOU AT THE CELEBRATION!
LOVE, LOUISE

My mom is certainly someone to be proud about!  Keep up the good work

Why?

Why do you attend an AIM meeting?  Take a moment and really think about the reason.

Why does AIM hold meetings?

AIM is desirous to aid in your recovery from any and all anxiety disorders.  What more can we do to be of help to you?  We want to know.

If you come to AIM meetings for any other reason, than recovery, then perhaps you are at the wrong meeting.

Fear can be all encompassing, but it does not have to be.  Practice living your life in the NOW.  Right now, is there anything to be so very fearful about?  I did not think so….  There is nothing happening this very moment that is so dreadful.  Actually, there is probably something happening that is wonderful!  You are alive

What do we celebrate on AIM's Birthday?  Well, we celebrate being another year older, of course, but more than that, we celebrate RECOVERY!  Recovery is surely something to celebrate, and to be overjoyed about.  To be able to do things that you have had difficulty doing, or maybe not able to do at all, is breaking free from the chains that have kept you bound!!!
It is only another anxious individual that can appreciate that last statement.  You see, the chains can't be seen, but they are so very real!
So this whole year, AIM will be celebrating recovery...for you!!  Yes, you...  Think about all the progress you have made, and have a party!!
Join us as we celebrate...

HELP US STAY ALIVE ANOTHER YEAR)

AIM is a support group organization for people suffering with any type of anxiety disorder.  Although everyone has fears, and everyone has anxiety, over 20 million people (with anxiety disorders), find that they are affected to the degree that their life is immobilized...they just can't be sure if they will be able to  walk out the door, or do any of the things that they need to do..
For some of us, fear is a constant, life threatening, serious, no-laughing, matter.
For others, it interferes with us living the "free" life that we deserve to experience.
If you experience extreme anxiety, such as...
panic attacks, palpitations, dizziness, blurred vision and the accompanying depression, AIM is here to support you as you travel the road to recovery. We will give you some tips that have worked for us.  Whatever is challenging you, we know that you are stronger than you think. Recovery from an anxiety disorder is 100%.  It is treatable, arrestible and recoverable, IF you work the tools of AIM. It may be hard to believe, right now.  Take a little step.  HAVE A LITTLE WILLINGNESS.  Believe just a little bit.  If you don't believe it, we will believe it for you, until you come to that place yourself.

Many of us have found that having an anxiety disorder is one of the best things that has ever happened to us.  (Seriously!)  It's made us  stronger.  Once recovered, we find that we can do the most amazing things, things that "normal" people would have a hard time doing!
Our fear is very real, but the reason for the fear resides in our thinking and behaviors.  We,that have this condition, are highly intelligent, people-pleasing, friendly, etc.  The problem lies in interpreting
events and bodily symptoms in a catastrophic way, making our world appear unsafe.  Once we learn to see our world as being safe, friendly, and positive, we begin to live the life we deserve.
PEOPLE FEEL THE WAY THEY THINK.  CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS...CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL!

Just Breathe….Shallow breathing may lead to increased anxiety and even panic attacks. Some people theorize that improper breathing is the entire cause of panic attacks. In any case, learning proper breathing techniques may not only benefit you as a relaxation exercise, you may feel a sense of calm overall if you learn to breathe properly.  <>
